They should also talk about whether any of their future travel business should go to UA. If UA caused her to misconnect, UA was responsible for getting her to her destination. It sounds like they sent her on a wild goose chase instead. Simply making someone a reservation on a later flight, if she's traveling on a restricted fare, doesn't cut it.
As I said, UA tried to rebook her onto the later BA flight and when she tried to check in BA didn't accept the rebooking.
After she went back to the transfer desk, UA then rebooked her on LH (via FRA) in business (her original booking was in economy).
She said UA went out of their way to help, BA couldn't have cared less. That speaks volumes.
