331 days is just the first day you can call DL to try to get award reservations. Doesn't mean that there will be award seats on every flight. They may or may not ever open a single seat on the flight you want for the date you want.

I don't know what the fare code is for economy award seats on KL, for business it is D, but I don't think you can see the award codes anyway. You can either use the NW US site and choose Award Flights or I prefer to use the NW Japan site - http://book2.nwa.com/jp/booking/asp/...EST2=758685252
