I traveled to Canada in May 05 for the World Forum on Early Care & Education. I did use my passport but many of my US friends who came and left on different flights did not. They had no problem when they left. It was the people from other countries that had problems. (there were people from over 80 countries)

If you have photo ID and proof of citizenship, it will be ok. The birth certificate my daughter (age 26) used was just issued by our county and had no raised seal. Can he order another birth certificate? Many places will let you fax a request and pay the fee with a credit card and ship it out right away.
