Usually the rate is usually a 40-50% surcharge on the AT&T operator assisted day-time calling rate.
Make that more like 400% surcharge or a $10 min.
Actually, it's kind of funny. As a rule I never use hotel phones either. This time, it was one of our children calling me and mrs iainarmstrong while we were downstairs having a drink in the poorly staffed bar. Mrs iainarmstrong had taken her cellphone instead of leaving it in the room.
But even so, $10 for a one minute call and the staff not knowing the rate really isn't on.
But, it won't stop me pushing for Gold again this year. And we have 4 days in the Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort at Christmas.
