Most of the FF on this board don't have issue with non-revs flying, but its when non-revs displace flyers who are willing to dish out hard-earned MILES is the key.

The real reason that CO's BizFirst upgrade policy is so whacky is because of the 72 hour rule. This rule essentially allows CO to fly with empty seats up front and disgruntled elite flyers in the back (all of whom were willing to pay with miles). This policy does nothing to prevent unscrupulous non-revs from making phantom bookings to insure a 100% chance at an upgrade on a coveted route.

The destruction of the OnePass program when Greg Brenneman left. Then came the HoKeY fares, BendForward fares, 72 hour rule and 30 day rule. These stupid little rules do nothing but to wear down the patience of loyal frequent fliers and send us in the direction of AA, UA and others who are more lenient with international upgrades.
