I believe basically it's a problem of connector types, although USB is on the rise, this may change in the far future. Plus, hotels must rack up on phone charges also.

My problem is the placement or avaliability of electrical plugs in the room. I must always move dressers and beds since the desk on have two at most. I wouldn't mine bring my own charger at all if they can help with power strips or extension cords.
