Boots don't know their arse from their elbow...I was denied ~£350 of spend for new glasses a couple of months back when I handed over my AmEx. Had to use Mastercard instead and get nothing (err, except yet another credit limit increase on a card I use once in a blue moon - it's now nearly twice that of my AmEx!). Couple of days later my Dad paid on his AmEx for something else at the same store no problems.

I await the press release from Boots which proudly trumpets their "retail remuneration consistency process has been enhanced due to customer feedback".
