I know that there must be some administrative costs to standbys, but it can't be worth as much as the goodwill it earns from us customers. And what happens when the airlines cancel, change, or delay our flights? Even for weather or airport problems? How is that different from us getting stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the airport? Should they fly us for free if they can't perform their side of the contract on time?
