I think we we go with the Rennaissance Wailea - I am using marriott points and I like the better odds of better weather over there - plus we have never stayed on the east side of Maui, so we may wind up spending more time doing things over there than in the past. Plus it will make the trip to Hana, Haleakala, Paia and Makawao much shorter. We will still be going into Lahina for dinner though! I am having a hard time thinking about breaking up the Maui stay into two different hotels - that just sounds like such a pain in the rear to pack.unpack.move hotels. Maybe I should think about it and could split to Kapalua/Wailea....it just doesnt seem relaxing to deal with


I am now considering extending my stay past a week - maybe to 9-10 days.
I may surprise my wife and see if I can get a cheap room on lanai for a couple extra days before or after Maui....
