You may remember me from last year when I posted about switching from AA to CO. I stated that I really didnt care about the miles and I was more concerned with upgrades, service, and price.

Just recently things changed. I tried to book award travel for the first time was so disappointed. 50K miles to go from LAX to ABQ. Fares are now so much more than our preferred company airline (AA) now, and since I fly Western United States, the HP breakup really hurt me.

When I called AA for reward travel, it was 40K miles for the same trip. Not too much different, but the agent said "lets see if I can make this more worthwhile for you". So he said he could put me is First class.

I dont get upgraded as much on AA, but the extra legroom in coach is acceptable. DFW is a closer and nicer hub than IAH.

Not really CO's fault, my needs have changed as I want to start using reward travel more and I have to continue to fly Western United States.

I havent really experienced the "arroagance" of the CO staff as people have posed about.
