Dang it. This is the second time this month I've flown to DCA and have have to wait for my luggage. Last time it was supposed to shown up at the hotel first thing in the morning and didn't until that evening. Gotta love scrambling around late at night looking for a contact case and solution...then running to the store to buy clothes on $50 before a meeting with your customer.


And then doing it again 2 effing weeks later. Actually, this is a little different. Last time I just had a delayed inbound flight that made the connection tight. However, they still took 20 hours to get the luggage 10 miles from the airport.

This time I was scheduled to fly into DCA from DTW. Get to gate A70 or so, sit down. Listen to the announcement that the gate is now A12. Run down to A12 to hear that the flight is cancelled (mechanical) and you have to come up to the counter to fix your flights. Wham! Immediate clusterf&$k. Thank God for Worldclub access. First in line at the WC and they can reroute me through IND arriving in DCA at 7:30 or so instead of my scheduled ETA of 3:15.

Naw...just see if you can get me into BWI because i have a washington nationals game to go to. Sure. Jump on the 3ish flight with an ETA of 4:45.

4:30...still sitting on the tarmac w/a hydraulic problem. Get to BWI 6ish to find out my luggage is going to DCA. Sweet. No luggage and no game. Don't worry sir, here's a $25 voucher to add to your considerable pile at home and your luggage will be delivered this evening.

So....I'm sitting at the computer at 45 minutes past midnight wondering where in the F&*k i'm going to get a contact case and solution!!!

And I wonder how I'm going to get slacks, shoes, and a shirt for $50?
