Crowne Plaza in Asia are usually quite nice. I stayed recently in Beijing and it was like a 4.5 star hotel. But Holiday Inn's outside the US are usually also 4 star hotels and their marketing (and pricing) targets a different clientele then most of the Holiday Inn dumps in the US.
