I wasn't sure about the exit row. But generally the lower your group # the further in the back you are sitting. Or at least before the group #s came along they would board from back to front. I don't pay much attention as I don't ever have to worry about it because as far back as I remember I have boarded with group 1 or now with EXP/PLAT.
