I'd certainly hope they did more than just smile and walk up and down the aisle, or were they showing off their gear?

OT: For a LCC, JJ in Brazil is doing rather well. New A320s / 319s, 3 FAs doing three hand outs in a 50 min domestic flight - drinks, a snack then a "trade" give away. They also managed turnarounds of about 25 minutes. No money collected - there is just not enough time for that. Only problem was tortuously tight seat pitch.
