NWA has gone on the record as being prepared to continue flying without flight disruptions in the event of a strike.

They have made contingency plans for managers to work, for replacement mechanics, for replacement FA´s and have publicly stated that there will not be any cancelations.

Whether they can really continue flying during a mechanics strike is anyones guess. But given that they are saying that no flights will be canceled I would expect it to be impossible to change a restricted ticket.

Advice: Buy a Y26 Full Fare Coach Ticket and you will retain the flexibility you desire.
