Change of Itinerary Due to Possible Strike Allowed?

Hi All,

This may be a bit premature, and I couldn't find anything related in the search, so hoping someone here can explain.

I haven't had experience flying on an airline that is *possibly* going to be affected by a strike, and I already have a ticket for 8/20 - 8/22. From what I read, I may just wind up flying at the beginning of a strike.

Even though they say they will continue to operate, I have another connecting flight critically reliant on NWA getting me there on time. Does anyone know if Northwest will be sympathetic to my concern and allow me to rebook for another date without charge? I'm planning on calling customer service and asking, but I guess I don't want to harrass them with this kind of question without some consensus here - sounds pretty pessimistic calling them asking about a situation that may not develop.

Thanks in advance.
