Generous portions of soul food at a nice price make this cafeteria a West Side favorite.
So I was jonesen for some soul food as I’ve been pretty whitebread recently.

An associate recommended MacArthur’s and after seeing it posted as one of the Cheap Eats by City Search, it was time to go.

Smothered this, BBQ that, yams, greens, all the soul one could ask for.

I had the smothered pork chops w/collared greens, mac n’ cheese and for dessert the sliced bananas and ‘nilla wafers with banana pudding (all mixed together).

Client had the smothered chicken w/potato salad.

Both came with a cornbread muffin (a little dry, my only complaint).

This food is stick to your ribs good, real home cooking.

Thank God they have take out containers placed around the restaurant, there is NO WAY I was going to finish this good meal.

The restaurant is well staffed, clean, with off the street parking next to it. Oh and it is cheap good.
