I may not hear what you have heard on a regular basis whenever I am on flights, BamaVol, but it is not unusual either to hear that sort of activity from the cockpit.

The functions that you mention are part of the equipment of the aircraft. One thing that I have learned is that there are many FlyerTalk members in the TravelBuzz! forum that are quite knowledgeable about intimate details of commercial aircraft. If you do not believe me, just search for the thread in the TravelBuzz! forum pertaining to scratches on aircraft windows. You will find out more than you ever wanted to know about aircraft windows!

This thread will receive a greater and more diverse audience in the TravelBuzz! forum, so that forum is now its new home. I will leave a “re-direct” in the Delta forum for those Delta forum FlyerTalk members who are interested in this topic as well.

You should get the answers to your question soon!
