I am traveling to Washington National Airport in a couple of weeks and also found out about this change before seeing this thread. Thank you for sharing this information with us, Marq.

Although Delta Air Lines passengers will be “affected” by this change, the topic really does not pertain to Delta Air Lines. Rather, it is a general issue pertaining to security. Therefore, the new — and more appropriate — home forum of this thread will be the Travel Safety/Security forum.
