All this is very interesting everyone. Thanks. I'll be set to rack up some miles next year. Next question along that line of thought.

I know that award travel does not net you FF miles, but do you still get EQM's for flying? Also, say I somehow manage to upgrade a transpacific economy ticket to WBC, does that flight still count toward FF miles and/or EQM's?
