I need a leather cover on my passport to keep it alive - I'm lucky if a passport lasts about 5 years before becoming too dog eared for everyday use. (Luckily, I have two, are about 5 years apart in expirey date.)
My nifty leather cover is by Samsonite, does not reproduce the old UK set-up, and, BTW, all new passports have the swiping page on the next to last, no longer included in the cover.
And I would leap at the chance of a credit card sized ID I could carry with the rest of my cards and use to travel through the EU!
