Tell them you would like to keep the same routing or something very similar. You shouldnt have too many problems. If Im asked why Im taking a routing that it is a little bit out of the ordinary, I am usually very honest that Im trying to get more miles / segements to reach a challenge or status for the next year.
Be patient with the agent and insist what you want (but dont be demanding) and see what they can do for you. In some case, you may come out w/ an itinerary better than what you hd before.
