While people do not choose their ailrine alliance based on hot towels, I do think that people make the decision to sit in F based on a certain level of expected service. We are rapidly approaching the time when the only added benefit of flying F is a bigger seat -- and then NO ONE will pay for it. Some would also argue that they pay for F by remaining loyal to one airline enough to earn the status that would earn them the required upgrade.
