To all MR gurus, I've tried many routes to beef up the mileage, but the price jumps by about $120 over the nonstop when I do this, and by my calculation it would be 3.75 c/EQM on the additional $$$ / time.
Quite frankly, I'm at 37,000 EQMs for the year, and not sure that the advantage of Gold over Silver is worth doing MRs with the loss of UGs. Had a better percentage of UGs as Silver last year (only qualified for Gold in December) that Gold this year. Then again, if I were to revert to Silver next year, that may mean only priority seating with no UGs.
At any rate, I've also tried routing IAH-EWR-SEA, but while it raises the price about the same amount, it does not get me the same amount of miles. On the bright side, I can leave at 1 p.m. and not get up before the crack of dawn.
