I think I might have just realized why the AC site was only showing a B fare -- I also selected my return date (August 3rd), which has nothing below a Y fare, and I think you can't combine a Y with anything below a B?
If I am not mistaken, it's the other way around -- discount-Y fares can't be combined with higher fares.
