Could you try calling the agents back and seeing if they can request seats for you in A class?

I think the issue was about award seat availability, not that F awards don't exist. I'm going in F from MAN-AKL in March and the award chart doesn't list F awards (or at least didn't when I booked it). I also managed to get a stopover in either direction, but I think that was due to a glitch in the matrix.
