I would just choose the newer one. Trust me, those hotels down there get run down pretty quickly. We went to Cabo in 2003 and stayed at 2 hotels (Hilton (European Plan) and Crowne (All-Inclusive)) that both opened less than a year prior. We visited some of the neighboring hotels for food/sightseeing and the older hotels look pretty bad...smelly restaurants, dirty pools and fountains, etc. Just, IMHO though.
