berlinflyer, there are two steps in this process. You should be aware that DL updates the elite status for all Skymiles members over the weekend. You are not automatically elevated to a higher level at the completion of your flight. If your trip involves a weekend stay you should be ok and you can check their website to see whether or not you are now a GM.

In addition, at that point, you have to call SMS and ask them to remove your Skymiles number from your locater and then reinstate it or it will still read that you are a FO (Silver) when you print your boarding pass. Once they place your Skymiles number back in the locater, it will show your GM status.
