I have a lot of Delta flghts coming up the next three months and I should turn Silver (and later Gold) in a short time, since most of these flights will be either booked in Y or J (1.5).

1. Once I am a Silver, I would get 25% mileage bonus. If I am travelling on a ticket in business class, would the following calculation be correct?

Berlin-New York= 3.968 miles
Business Class (1.5) = 3.968 * 1.5 = 5.952 miles
Bonus for silver (25 %)= 5.952 * 1,25 = 7.440 miles

If I am correct, the total bonus for me on that flight would be 75% (50% for J and 25 % for silver).

2. After arriving in JFK, I would be Gold member. Does Delta honor that and gives me the benefits right from that point of my itinerary? So for my flight back, the calculation would be:

New York-Berlin = 3.968 miles
Business Class (1.5) = 3.968 * 1.5 = 5.952 miles
Bonus for gold (100%) = 5.952 * 2 =11.904 miles

For this flight I would get a total of 150% (50 % J and 100 % gold). Is that also correct?

If so, I guess I have understood their mileage system. Thanks for your help
Sorry to say you completely MISUNDERSTOOD how the Elite Mileage bonus is calculated.

Your Silver Medallion Bonus is 25%, NOT 125%, use 0.25 to calculate your Silver Bonus, NOT 1.25.

Same as Gold, bonus is 100%, not 200%, use 1, not 2 to calculate Gold Bonus.

For MQM, I assume you already visited this link. If not, it is worth checking out.
