Is it easy to rent a holiday home in Cairns for a 4-6 week period? I seem to remember seeing some sort of "investment" seminar in Singapore years ago flogging Cairns property with a return guarantee. I am assuming these properties are being rented by the week to Australian or Asian holiday makers.

My wife really likes the idea of living in Cairns (great international connections especially the flight to Guam). Are there any new subdivisions going up around Cairns?
