Arrived back in SYD on QF108 yesterday following a brief 2 day trip to NY.

I overheard (ok I was evesdropping) a Flight Attendant talking to a passenger regarding the benefits of the staff travel program. The passenger was the elderly mother of a FA on long haul.

Mother said that over the years her and her now deceased husband had saved hundreds of thousands of dollars on travel around the globe, and now the FA's sister was also reaping the rewards. They had flown F an a number of occasions, but didnt mind being in the upper cabin on this occasion.

What are the benefits, who do they extend to and are they monitored or capped?

What class are they booked in and what is availabilty?

Surely there must be some QF employees earning under the table $$$ in return for flights to nominated friends and family.
