Did you happen to notice if they were able to fill the 319? What may have been nice for you, was probably losing AC money. Be happy that AC will have a more efficient fleet and should be around to serve you in the future. At least there will be business class and it's better than a CRJ200.
They've got the demand forecasting figured out quite well on YUL/YYZ. I'd say that 90% of the time they're flying well above 80% seats filled. I fly J class though which admittedly is seldom full.
