I've been to the RC only once, shortly after it opened.
Harbour view was not so impressive as the view you want to have is that of Hong Kong Island, which is not what you get if you stay on that side.
The view of Kowloon is rather boring in comparison.

Guests were a mix of americans and a rugby team, which I found rather less matching to the elegant surroundings.
Service was ok, a bit on the cool side. Nothing to write home (or here) about.

Breakfast in the restaurant was nice, especially since they bothered to serve real coffee rather than the see-thru drip-pot version.

Having stayed at the Oriental, Regent, Island Shangri-La, Sheraton and a few others, my favourite choice is the Sheraton. Less luxurious and usually some kind of construction going on somewhere, but excellent harbour views and good value for money.
