$10 TSA fee to be charged for ticket issued last year?

Got a message this morning that there had been a change in a reservation for a CO flight.

Called the number given in the message, I was hoping that a certain waitlist had cleared for one segment. This was a FC reward ticket booked last August for travel in July. The agent went over the itineary, nothing had changed.

Called the Elite number, the agent couldn't find any change. I asked the agent to check the status of the waitlist, no change. The only FC reward seats available are on the 23rd, We're going on the 11th. The agent confirmed that FC on the desired flight is completely empty. The agent suggested I talk to a supervisor. OK, I said, as if that would do any good.

The supervisor looked at the record and said "Your ticket isn't in sync, you've gotta pay the $10 security fee to get the record in sync."

Anybody else have any experience with this?
