Regarding CRJs from BBD, I too have never been a fan but recently I was on one of the new ones (the new series which have grey seats, not the dark green seats), and I noticed some improvements. Seems like better legroom, and more comfortable....not sure what other improvements there were but I was more impressed.

Of course the new 705s are even better, more head room (due to lower floor), J class, 2 flight attendants, etc.
