Don't feel alone. On our first trip to London, walking around jet lagged, hungry, somewhat lost...we also stopped in for our first meal at the previously mentioned steak restaurant. What a mistake. Nice enough people, but absolutely non-appetizing meal. We did have a nice pre-theatre meal at the Criterion Brasserie a few months ago. Convenient location, decent food and nice decor (although someone said they were planning to redo it (?). We did mention to our server before we ordered that we were headed to the theatre...but our food still took quite awhile to get to us and we ended up rushing out before we really were able to finish it. The restaurant wasn't crowded, so that wasn't the cause.
