Am I the only person who thinks it's actually colder in row 12? I flew JFK-LGB in 12F last weekend, and the draft from the emergency exit door was so cold that I chose not to sit in the exit row on the return flight.
As for whether service is deteriorating, I didn't notice a decline. Our flight was delayed due to a faulty engine starter, which was discovered after we had already left the gate. We went back to the gate to get it fixed, but since we weren't allowed to deboard, the pilot ordered 15 dozen Dunkin' Donuts for us. I've never seen another airline do that, but it sure goes a long way towards keeping people happy when there's a delay. The rest of the B6 personnel were just as helpful and friendly as always.
