OK, finally got through. All in all, I have to say it's a very good deal. Used 50k points for a flight to London. Flight was pricing at $845, I only have to pay some indeterminate amount in taxes between $100 and $150 (they'll let me know in a couple days). Also, I think I took the last V-class fare on the return leg because the flight is now pricing at $1400 with the return in B!
A point of interest with regards to AA (which is what the flights are on) is that from what I could tell, they use AA Incentive Travel Certs (americanairlinesincentivetraavel.com) to redeem the flights. He kept talking about the certificates they have for AA and these are the only things I can think of that would match up with what he's talking about. Presumably they buy at a discount, but the retail price for a USA-Europe cert is $900. Requires V-class availability.
Oh yeah, and I don't quite have 25k purchase points (will have enough once my next statement closes tonight), but they apparently cannot see the difference between flight points and purchase points. I was able to redeem 23k purchase points with 27k flight points. Not sure if Citi has something further down the line to catch this or what...
