My suggestion if you happen to go in the winter would actually be Austria. There are several extremely "romantic" hotels in interesting environments there that would be fantastic places to do something special. Tops on the list for intimate, romantic and classy would be the Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg. It's a fun little city also. In Vienna, the Imperial is exactly that, imperial. I can't imagine a more romantic city than Vienna. I rank it above Paris. It's not only beautiful, it's clean, which Paris most certainly is not. Either hotel would be excellent point redemption opportunities.
