I can't imagine a more romantic city than Vienna. I rank it above Paris. It's not only beautiful, it's clean, which Paris most certainly is not. Either hotel would be excellent point redemption opportunities.
I can second this. I just returned from Austria and stayed in Salzburg at the Goldener Hirsch which is absolutely lovely and they also treat Platinums very well. I got a very nice suite, I could choose between various Platinum Amenities and they got me a nice small bottle of wine complimentary and every night there were two mineral waters for free. Overall just wonderful.
In Vienna I stayed at the Bristol, right opposite the Opera. They upgraded me to a huge suite where the rack price was US$ 2.500. The Imperial by the way is a touch better, but the view on the Bristol just marvellous
