I think it depends on which Holiday Inn you stay in, alot of Holiday Inns were the old Forte Post hotels which were 3*, in London you have a Holiday Inn that was a Forum9Kensington) and over last couple of years has undergone massive investment, and is well worth its 4* status, in summary it comes down to where in the country you stay.
