Thanks for the advice. I'll try calling AC and see what happens. Obviously she'll "survive" in club class. She'd even survive in economy, believe it or not! But she would also have survived on a direct EWR-CDG flight.

YYZ Nomad -- no, wife is not on flyertalk and yes, of course I blame myself! I did see this was a 767 but I assumed this was a 763 which I have taken before in exec-first internationally and found very comfortable. I haven't been as religious about flyertalk of late, alas, and so I didn't know this club class thing was being introduced for normal routes -- I thought it was only on routes to Rome and other places.

Let's see if AC will be kind to me.
