Totally agree.
Especially on the consistent positive treatment I got from NY based Delta crews on transatlantic flights. They are friendly and smiling and always make me feel I am valued customer, whether I am flying cheap discount coach fare or business class fare.

At the opposite, I often find New Jersey based CO crew below par. I will always remember the attitude I got from the purser of a transatlantic flight while sitting in BusinessFirst. To make things short: he always made sure to avoid eye contact me when speaking to me, made a whole fuss when I switched seat (e.g. he wanted me to re-order my meal because of this - because "I was sitting in another section that was going to be serviced by another FA"). Not the kind of experience you expect on an expensive J ticket!

My other personal experience on transpacific routes is that Asian airlines crew are usually better compared to US airlines crews (well at least on NW).
It's a bit of a cliche but I find it true.

This might be due to the way crew are selected. US carriers would generally have "senior" FAs (I think they have priority to get on those long transpacific flights), who are more experimented but who can also be much less motivated in providing great service (because of the routine?)
