You don't need to be very close to see the shuttle launch, just drive to about 30-50 miles from Kennedy Space Center and you will have a great view. Of course hotels will all be sold out for many miles around KSC. And... I highly doubt that it will launch on July 13th. This is the first launch in 2.5 years and any little thing will delay it... weather will also play a big part in the launch.

I've seen a few launches, the most beautiful one was a dawn launch, and I saw it from the west side of Orlando!
It is worth seeing a launch, they are truly spectacular! :-:
