Here in Florida Hertz offers the new Cadillacs, STS etc. I don't like them or the Deville because at night it feels like I am sitting infront of a Fair Ground with all the different colored lights in the dashboard. The ride comfort is good, but some people may get "sea-sick" because of the floaty sensation, and the engine allows the car speed up from traffic lights quickly. Having said that, the Towncar feels quick off the mark too. Mid-range acceleration is not all that great because of the weight of these cars. The trunks are massive.

If you are looking to distinguish yourself from the crowd, a Lincoln Towncar has more glitzy appeal than a DeVille, because of all the chrome, but they are very common! Also the DeVille model is not the latest model Cadillac now, and it will attract less attention. The STS is a much sharper looking car, but don't expect sports car performance.

If you do not like the car in your stall, go back to the Hertz desk and ask for the car you want. But check what's unassigned in the car park first, as you'll be wasting time asking for a car they don't have available. Also don't appear too insistent on an upgrade or the rep will quote you "an arm and leg" price for it.
