BA likes to keep its foot in the door at T3 for that reason. If it left, it would be harder to get back in than leave!

Sometimes the MIA flight coaches from T1 as well.

In 2008, Flights will probably be coached from one of the furthest stands in T3 as they are very near T5 if space and stand availablity is a problem.

All BA flights in 2008 will depart from T5 at the end of March 2008. There may be a few coaching flights until 2011 when the T5 satellite C will open up as the capacity will be at a maximum and there will not be enough completed stands in 2008.

This is because of the way the public enquiry, BAA ana BA determined how the building of T5 would be funded and completed.

Terminal 5 is around 40% funded by the takeoff and landing fees and the profits from the shops. There will not be enough moeny in th "kitty" to pay for T5 satellte C until around 2007/8. By then, the main terminal and sateliite B (which is externally complete now) will be ready and all operations will move onto building C.
