A lot of other countries clear customs at port of entry - US isnt unusual there.
However it is a pain when not even entering the country - just transiting through - to have full immigration processes, collect bags and redeposit.
Also, I cannot understand the stupidity of having to go through TSA security after clearing customs from an international flight. What can happen at a secure airport? I guess the TSA doesn't consider the airport secure.
