We stayed at this resort in Feb 05. It is a very beautifull resort. I am Starwood Platinum and was upgraded to an ocenview room but no suite. No other benefits for Platinum either. The area is very nice and there is an Italian restaurant that is wonderfull in the marina. Try one of the filets with sauce, can't remeber what it is called. You will find the hotel restaraunts much more expensive than all of the marina restaurants. We trully enjoyed the italian place. Have a great time, Egypt is a once in a lifetime experience.

Anyways, I'm going to the Sheraton Miramar Resort this summer for two weeks with my parents (dad is SPG Plat) and the rate is only 74 USD (give or take) per night for the second room for my sister and I. We also get full buffet breakfast for all of us (half-board) and we can add dinner for all of us for 44$ USD. My parents room is being paid for with points (2K for weekends, 3K during the week..Cat. 1). Is it worth it to use points for both rooms or to have it split like my dad set it up?
Also, has anyone else stayed at the Sheraton Miramar in El Gouna before? It seems like most of the members here don't realize how cheap some of these Starwoods in North Africa/Middle East actually are... and they are wonderful first class resorts.

This will be my first time at the Sheraton Miramar, but we have stayed at many Sheratons and Moevenpicks with my family in the Middle East and North Africa that are dirt cheap. Last summer we went to the Sheraton Hammamet Resort in Hammamet, Tunisia and it was wonderful!!! I've never had a better vacation in all of my life (again another Cat. 1 property). So, why isn't there much talk of these cheap Cat. 1 destinations?
