What I do not get is, if it is supposed to be policy that S/Es are asked for their selection first, how come it happens so rarely? Those In Charges who have told me that it is in fact policy are emphatic and cannot understand why it is not done on all flights and how the other crews get away with breaking such a clear policy. Strange, eh?
