letaPlamiB, I suspect your confusion is due to the statement "Discounted Economy Class: 50% of actual miles flown" on
this page. If you click on the link in the footnote, however, you'll see that no paid AA fare falls under the Discounted Economy category. So, paid AA fares should get 100% Asiamiles equal to the miles flown.

MPC status is based either on Asiamiles earned (assuming you've enrolled in MPC) or on MPC sectors. Given that AA fares earn 100% miles, they should earn 100% MPC sectors, which, in addition to the appropriate cabin bonus, will then count towards MPC status.
